Record video directly to your computer

The video recording can be a very time consuming thing, especially if you’re recording on tapes with a camcorder. You’ll maybe do a dozen takes for a single instrument and the capture processing can be very long. So here is a cool video tip from Jack Conte that will make you save some time with the video recording process.

  1. This is great, but…. not all camcorders are created the same… which specific one is Jack using? I have two HD cameras
(Canon T2i/550d) and a Canon Vixia HF200, and I don’t think either is capable of doing this.

    Anyone?

    Thanks!

I am using a Logitech C910 webcam. $79.95 at Office Depot. Hope this works till I can upgrade!

Good going from a proud Branson parent who “knew you when.” Take a look at the iPhone “Video Camera” app that just was released at MacWorld a few weeks ago. It’s $6.99. The app lets you slave up to five iPhones recording simultaneously with one as the master video mixer in 720p HD – this could be fun in a studio session – if you know five people with iPhones (and it works via network so they can literally be anywhere in the world at the time, which could make for some creative musical ideas), and even lets you edit and add intros and royalty-free music and export right from the app if you want. Nice Marin IJ writeup on you guys, you should link to that…
